The most efficient way to clean your cartridge cases

The SA wet Tumbler ensures excellent cleaning of your cartridge cases, inside and out, including the primer pockets;
It removes both oxidation as well as carbon residue;
To prevent scratching the brass, our tumbler comes supplied with deburred and pre-polished stainless steel-type media/pins;
We advise the use of our MAMBA soap for even better cleaning;
Cleaning of cartridge cases achieve two things: Any damage or imperfections can now easily be detected, and a clean case is much kinder to your reloading equipment in terms of wear and tear.

For cutting primer pockets uniformly to the same depth

Most manufacturers punch the primer pocket into cartridge case head;
Therefore all cases do not have equally deep primer pockets, and the bottom usually has a radius. This causes the primers to be seated unevenly and to different depths;
It could cause some primers to protrude from the rear of the case, which is dangerous because it could cause a slam fire;
Primers should be seated to 4 Thou, or 0.1mm, below the surface of the case head;
For safety and uniform ignition it is strongly advised that the primer pockets be cut to the same depth;
This is done with the MAMBA primer pocket uniformer.

For removal of the burnt residue at the bottom of the primer pocket.

Primer detonation leaves a burnt residue at the bottom of the primer pocket;
Removal is necessary to ensure that a new primer is mounted correctly and equally deep;
It is important to make sure the cleaner does not fit too stiff and possibly damages the sidewalls of the primer pocket;
Be careful to use it in such a fashion to only remove the residue at the bottom of the pocket without damaging the case material.

This Expander MANDREL att .358 calibres

Often, whilst seating several bullets, we experience a distinct variance in the resistance to seating between these bullets. Some bullets need much more seating force than others. The most likely reason for this variance, is inconsistent inside case neck dimensions/diameters;
Consider the following: If cases have inconsistent neck wall thickness, and they are sized to have the exact same outside diameter, surely the diameter on the inside of the case necks would follow suit, and could not be consistent;
Remember, the bullet sits inside the case neck, not outside. Consistency is everything in shooting and equates to consistent and accurate results;
If you currently experience any variance in the force needed to seat bullets: Does the present use of normal expander buttons and case neck turning really deliver the required results for consistent case neck tension? Probably not;
Many reloaders, including myself, experience very positive results from employing Case Neck Expander Mandrels for achieving consistent case neck tension. Our results indicate a significant reduction in the standard deviation (SD) and extreme spread (ES) of our measured muzzle velocities;
Fit the Expander Mandrel through the bottom end of the Expander Die/Body & use the supplied bolt and washer to tighten it by hand only;
The screw on the bottom of the Expander Mandrel bottoms inside the case against its web. The screw is already factory-set to function for all cases specific to the particular bullet calibre Mandrel. The Expander Die & Mandrel is therefore self-regulating and needs no adjustment or setup;
Screw the assembled Expander Die onto the press until enough thread is engaged = screwed in at least 3 turns;
Loosen the Mandrel bolt ¼ of a turn to achieve a rattle fit in the Die/Body + the Expander Die has no locknut. Together this achieves a floating and self-centring Expander Mandrel;
After cartridge cases are fully prepped and sized, lubricate the inside of these case necks thoroughly;
Place a case in the shell holder and carefully lower the press handle to push the expander mandrel into the case neck. Work the expander mandrel up and down inside the case for around 3 repetitions, taking care not to hit the set screw too hard against the inside of the case head.

MAMBA Case Lube is water soluble and can thus be removed completely with water. To ensure that all oil is removed we recommend using a soapy solution;
MAMBA Case Lube is also bio-degradable and thus environmentally friendly;
MAMBA Case Lube has a particularly high lubrication property when under pressure and is thus very suitable if used prior to resizing cases.

To indicate or measure the case temperature.

Heating cases can reverse work-hardening completely and make brass flexible and able to reform. This process of heating softens the brass and is called annealing;
During annealing the accumulated stress in the micro structure of the brass is cancelled and the brass brought back to its natural condition;
Apply a small dot of Tempilaq to the case body, plus minus 10 mm below the shoulder. It has been proven that if the body reaches 475 degrees Fahrenheit 10mm below the shoulder, the neck has reached the required temperature of 650 to 700 degrees Fahrenheit;
Heat a Tempilaq marked case with the pencil flame pointing at the middle of the neck. The case is rotated by the drill at a moderate pace until the Tempilaq has melted. That is when the Tempilaq turns transparent from the normal white colour. When this happens, throw the case into cold water;
Since we want the Tempilaq to indicate the temperature of the brass, it means that the flame should NOT make direct contact with the Tempilaq;
I always anneal all new cases to ensure they are uniform and constant;
For the sake of uniformity, I anneal fired cases each and every time I reload them.

We use a pencil flame because, a wider flame would heat to wide an area on the case and a wider flame could also heat the Tempilaq directly and give a false reading;
